On the one hand, digital advertising is one reason why the internet sucks. On the other, the already fragile online news space will completely disintegrate without ad support. Unless news websites try to quickly pivot to co-op/reader supported models, which would be dope! But also a risk!
I am more and more afraid that at the end of all this (whatever that means), only the most powerful companies will be left. And a lot of those are already the major players in the data scene, like Amazon, Google, and Facebook.
