Our speaker for this Friday’s lecture, Brian Hofer, was very instrumental in getting this ban passed, so now I’m even more excited to hear from him!!!

New York City Council established a task force last year to evaluate the city’s use of automated decision systems, to “ensure these systems align with the goal of making New York City a fairer and more equitable place.” The Task Force is hosting a public session this week at our library. I’ll report back if facial recognition pops in light of this week’s news!
