I am now thinking about outlining a privacy workshop specifically for Juggalos and black metal fans who wear corpse paint.
I remember this article from a bit ago. Teaming up with Juggalos would be in interesting take. I also like things with flashback material and I also like getting my face painted so this seems like a good take. I wonder how we could make it more accessable to non-Juggalos/metalheads.
Now I’m imagining who else would paint their face and would be open to a privacy workshop. Clowns? Cosplayers? Generally, teens and young adults interested in subcultures.
um, i love this. definitely invite the media. since you’re in nyc i bet i could get vice to cover it if you would be interested in that? it’s a good story!!!
That’s dope. We’ve had drag make-up tutorials for MA Youth Pride with an artist known as Sham Pain, who’s primary interest is horror drag. I’ve been itching to work with them on something else, so one of the project outlines I’ve been working on is a horror drag vs. facial recognition showdown, with an intro to the technology. The component I’m having trouble nailing down is the technology to use in pitting the make up vs facial rec. We have cameras, computers, screens, etc. but other than tagging a few ‘before’ shots in a photo album and comparing the ‘after’ ones, any tips on an open source facial rex program that can be run offline? This will be a great program for one of my outreach spaces.
I’m asking on twitter about this right now!!
Hive mind says:
Feed the images through https://imagenet-roulette.paglen.com/
(both those suggestions came from Varoon)
And then hard mode: https://www.pyimagesearch.com/2018/06/25/raspberry-pi-face-recognition/
Thanks to all - going to investigate some of these options - much appreciated, will report back!
Of course Facebook is trying it’s best to defeat this, here’s a link:
I WILL DEFEND THE JUGGALOS WITH MY LIFE
I suppose we can only drink Faygo and yell ‘whoop whoop’
Juggalos are already classified as a gang by the FBI. Why not radicalize them into a lefty privacy advocacy group?
They sure are, they seem to be there own thing so swinging them our way might be tricky, but there is no harm in trying haha.
Who knows what else they’d be down for.
